As everyone is aware shipping has become longer than usual.  We do want to provide you with the grain you need for your babies.  Therefore please try to plan ahead at least 3 weeks prior to needing the feed.  The orders are taking from 2 to 3 weeks to deliver to you after we fill the order.   

We make our orders fresh when you order them to guarantee you get the best products.  Also, you can freeze bags of grain to guarantee you don’t run out of the grain.  The grain will last if kept in a dry spot with no moisture for up to 6 to 9 months. I like to use the grain within 4 to 6 months. 

*In the case you do run out. You can substitute it with rolled Barley or Old Fashioned Oat Meal (Not Instant) and canned pumpkin and plain yogurt.   You can also include vitamins from the fresh veggie snack we recommend every day.

Helpful Hints:

  • We recommend that you feed your pig smaller portions and more often,
  • Your pig will stay smaller and this will help them with food aggression when you feed more often,
  • Feeding once or twice a day is not recommended,
  • We feed the pigs here at the farm 3 times a day with one veggie snack 4 hours after a grain feeding,
  • The grain is packed full of Vitamins and Minerals that are important for there health and staying healthy,
  • Please do not over feed the pigs!  This can really  cause health issues, especially when they age,
  • Grass is definitely discouraged, and  
  • We only encourage treats when they really earn them such after grooming or nail trimming.  They may get aggressive if you give them too many treats

One thing that we emphasize at Mini Pocket Pigs is that we do not breed Potbellied Pigs. Miniature Juliana Pigs are an entirely different breed and as a result they require an entirely different Mini Pig feed. The protein rate in most commercial food is as much as you would feed a farm pig. Also, it is missing much needed items for these indoor pets. We also found some of the commercial food use grain by products. We only use Non GMO all natural organic grain. Over the last 8 years with extensive research with a nutritionist and our vet we have developed our own nutritionally balanced feed, and now offer it to our piggy parents! I also have 25 years experience in animal nutrition. Every batch of grain is lab tested to assure it is nutritionally balanced the same rate every time.

” BIG NEWS” We now offer our grain pelleted! We have invested in a press pelleting machine and now can offer the all natural grain pelleted with pressing instead of cooking it at high temperatures. With the pressing pelleting  we do not loose any of the natural oils or nutritional value. The pellets are great for older pigs. It gives them some more substance to chew. It also takes away the dust from the ground grain. Our pigs are loving it. I do recommend the ground grain for the younger pigs. Once your pig is over 4 months give the pellets a try. Our search for the perfect pet started about 2 years ago when my wife ran across a picture of a “Tea Cup Pig” on the internet. We started to do some research, and ran across the typical night-mare stories of pigs growing to enormous sizes. Well, a little more research revealed that those few stories are recycled all over the internet, and it didn’t take much time to realize that all we needed was a reputable breeder. We found just that in Jeri Lynn at Mini Pocket Pigs.

After viewing Jeri Lynn’s website, and all of the included information and pictures of piggy parents (standing next to rulers), we knew we had found our breeder. One phone call to her and we were sold! Jeri Lynn’s willingness to answer all of our questions, spend time on the phone with us, and send us pictures of our new baby almost daily eased any anxiety we may have had taking on this new venture. Now I have had pets all my life, but my wife Leah has not. Leah is extremely allergic to just about everything. Walking into a house where a cat or dog lives results in hives and breathing issues. Leah was a bit worried about our pig. In stepped Jeri Lynn to the rescue again! Jeri Lynn explained why pigs are considered hypoallergenic. She also suggested that we check with an allergist. Beautiful and Sweet

I just want to tell you how much I love my piglet, Burt. He is so sweet and cuddly. I can’t thank you enough! I spoke to other pig breeders who just wanted people’s money and didn’t tell the truth about their piglets. Those breeders tell people their piglets will be small enough to fit in a teacup!
